Less is more

We’ve all heard that we should “edit our wardrobes” seasonally, which essentially means going through your clothes and keeping only the items you wear as well as items in good condition. Editing your décor, however, might be something you haven’t heard about before, but probably something you should be doing too.
Editing your décor is simply selecting pieces that have functional form to make a purposeful statement. Now, the minimalist look might not be for everyone, but trust me, every place can use some editing.
Take a critical eye to your home—what items do you have a strong emotional connection to or what items can relay your personality to guests? Be sure to keep those items, but search for the clutter and clear it out. Do you have several candlesticks sitting on your mantle? What would it look like if you spaced three matching candlesticks across the mantle?
Consider using two objects that are related, such as differently-shaped vases in the same color scheme, rather than one large vase. This can create a larger impact on the eye.
If you are unsure about your decision to edit something out, put it away in storage for a few weeks and see if you miss any of the pieces you took out. If you do, they are easy to retrieve and can be placed back in their original spot, or try placing them somewhere else. If you don’t miss them, pack them up and donate them or host a thrift sale with your friends.
Whatever you do, be sure to K.I.S.S.: Keep it simple, sweetheart.

OK, so we love the red fridge. Why not a red range to go with it? All the red ranges I find on the internet are sooooo expensive. You’ve got the fridge; make a matching range! Any advice? Otherwise we’ll have to go with another brand for matching appliances….
Cheers,
Devin
